On October 3, 2018 at the Institute of Solid State Physics, University of Latvia (ISSP UL) an ERDF project “University of Latvia and Institutes in European Research Area - Excellence, Activity, Mobility, Capacity” (No. 1.1.1.5/18/I/016) is launched.

Partners: University of Latvia (leading); ISSP UL, Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science, Institute of Literature, Folklore and Art, UL.

Project implementation time: 01.09.2018.–31.12.2022.

The main objective: to successfully integrate into the European Research Area.

The main task of the ISSP UL: to submit 15 project applications, evaluated above the threshold, in the Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe Programs, and in other international project calls.

The project total costs: EUR 1 778 049.41, including funding for ISSP UL of EUR 105 000.

The project takes place in the framework of the program “Growth and Jobs” 1.1.1. Specific Support Objective “To Increase Research and Innovation Capacity of Latvian Scientific Institutions and to Attract External Financing by Investing in Human Resources and Infrastructure” within the measure of 1.1.1.5. “Support for international cooperation projects in research and innovation”.

Main results of the Project for ISSP UL:

  • Before 2018.: 6 project applications, evaluated above the threshold;
  • 2018.: 5 project applications, evaluated above the threshold;
  • 2019.: 3 project applications, evaluated above the threshold;
  • 2020.: 4 project application, evaluated above the threshold.
