Applications and capabilities

Tool is purposed for galvanostatic and potentiostatic measurements for electrochemical systems such as electrochemical cells, batteries, or fuel cells. It is also used extensively as a tool for investigating mechanisms in electrodeposition, electrodissolution, passivity and corrosion studies, diffusion of ions across membranes, study of semiconductor interfaces and biosensors.

Tool also provides electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) measurements – a powerful technique for the characterization of electrochemical systems. Since impedance of an electrochemical system at a given frequency is related to processes occurring at timescales of the inverse frequency by performing EIS measurements one can obtain detailed information on reactions taking place. EIS data can be presented through multiple plots: Nyquist, Bode, Admittance, Dielectric, Mott-Schottky and more.

Tool is equipped with the optical bench kit that provides the means to study the electrochemical behaviour of photovoltaic cells, dye synthesized solar cells. The light source used in this setup is a highly focused LED that is fitted with a quick release system, allowing a fast exchange of the light source and wavelength.
