Trešdien, 26.februārī plkst. 15:00, Ķengaraga ielā 8, 2.stāva zālē “Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) - a Centre of Broad International cooperation” un “A multimodal optical platform for Raman and CARS microscopy and spectroscopy” Dr. Grigory Arzumanyan (Head of the JINR Multi Access Centre “Nanobiophotonics”)

The Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) is a large multidisciplinary international scientific centre, in which fundamental research in modern elementary particle physics, nuclear physics, and condensed matter physics using nuclear methods is integrated with the development and application of the newest technologies and university education activity in related areas. Available at this Institute is a unique choice of experimental facilities. At present, JINR has 18 Member States. A multimodal optical platform (called "CARS microscope) as a complementary instrument for condensed matter studies was installed and launched at JINR in 2012. This platform has been developed for research in microscopy and spectroscopy of spontaneous Raman scattering and its nonlinear modification known as Coherent Anti-Stokes Raman Scattering (CARS) widely used in various disciplines including biomedicine. Luminescence studies and 3D sectioning are available at this platform as well. Some examples of research activities are included in the presentation.
