5. decembrī, plkst. 14.00 LU CFI zinātniskajā seminārā uzstāsies Prof. Dr. Sarah Stoll no Georgetown University (ASV).

Lekcijas nosaukums: “Magnetic Nanomaterials for Device and MRI Applications”.

Anotācija:

The event is organized within the framework of the American-Baltic-Dialogue program project "Towards stronger cooperation between US and Baltic scientists in the field of nanomaterials science and sustainable chemistry".  Research in the Prof. Stoll Lab has focused on the synthesis and study of magnetic nanoparticles. Magnetic nanoparticles are of interest for electronics applications (data storage), biological systems (particularly for separations and MRI), as well as fundamental questions about magnetism on the nanometer length scale. Many of the projects involve the synthesis of novel magnetic nanoparticles or the incorporation of magnetic clusters and nanoparticles in larger superstructures. Some results on the developing systems with novel magneto-optical, luminescence, non-linear optical properties will be also discussed.
