Nordic-Baltic Physics Olympiad (NBPhO) 2020 online competition was held on Saturday, May 16th, 2020. The Olympiad featured the participation of 110 contestants representing 12 countries.

The staff of the Department of Physics of the Faculty of Physics, Mathematics and Optometry  of the University of Latvia led by lecturer and researcher Jānis Cīmurs had an important role in the organization of the Olympiad. The Latvian team can be proud of one gold medal, one silver medal and five bronze medals, which is a very high result.

NBPhO was established in 2003 as a qualifying round for the Estonian-Finnish Olympiad in Physics which was later joined by Latvia and Sweden.
