On 29 May, The Institute of Solid State Physics, University of Latvia (ISSP UL) welcomed Wulf Harder, a patron of the University of Latvia Foundation, who visited to explore the institute's research environment and the innovations developed here.

Following productive discussions, the patron, accompanied by ISSP UL Director Andris Anspoks, visited the Spectroscopy Laboratory, where he learned about the application of spectroscopic methods, such as those used in the Spectromarine water monitoring device. The tour continued to the Laboratory of Energy Materials to view the ongoing development in battery technologies, followed by the Thin Films Laboratory to explore the roll-to-roll technology that brings the institute closer to industrial-scale coating production. Finally, in the Micro and Nano Devices Laboratory, the guest was introduced to the latest developments from the institute's cleanrooms.

We are always delighted to host visionaries who support science and science-driven innovation!
