On September 26, everyone is invited to join an evening of exciting experiments and activities at the European Researchers’ Night at the Institute of Solid State Physics, University of Latvia (ISSP UL) in Ķengaraga iela 8, Riga, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM!

Families with children, school students, university students, and all curious minds will have the chance to enjoy a spectacular fire show, challenge themselves in an escape room and a laser maze, examine their own hair under a microscope, try out a microfluidics chip, and explore touch-sensitive sensors as well as hands-on light and temperature experiments. 

The evening will also be a perfect opportunity to learn something new, listen to educational talks, and ask ISSP UL researchers all your burning questions. Visitors of all ages will find something fascinating while discovering how science works and how new discoveries are made.

The Fire Show will wow visitors in the ISSP UL courtyard at 5:30 PM, 7:00 PM, and 8:30 PM, while the 2nd floor hall talk program will feature:

  • The World on the Micro and Nano Scale – 6:00 PM

  • BioPhoT Projects and Future Innovations – 6:20 PM

  • Light and Light Technologies – 7:30 PM

  • Scientists’ Mess-ups and Experience Stories – 7:50 PM
