From 7 to 9 July 2026, the international RESIM 2026 symposium will take place in Riga, bringing together researchers in biophysics, microsystems, and next-generation biomedical technologies.

RESIM 2026 focuses on the development of novel biomedical systems and the physical intelligence of single cells and cellular collectives, as well as on the principles that enable microsiwmmers and small-scale robots to sense signals, make decisions, and act. The thematic areas of the symposium include:

  • Mechanical biology and rheology of biosuspensions

  • Microfluidics and lab-on-a-chip platforms

  • Micro- and nanosensors, actuators

  • Active matter and microrobotics

RESIM 2026 particularly encourages the participation of doctoral students, early-career researchers, and students. It offers an excellent opportunity to present research results, take part in a workshop, build international networks, and engage in discussions with leading experts in the field.

Abstracts can be submitted until 27 March 2026 via the RESIM 2026 website.

The symposium will take place at the House of Science of the University of Latvia. The event is organised by the Institute of Solid State Physics, University of Latvia (ISSP UL) in cooperation with the BioMagnetLink and FeLow-D projects.
