The laureates of awards from the Latvian Academy of Sciences (LAS) competition for the most significant scientific achievements of 2025 have been announced – two research groups from the Institute of Solid State Physics, University of Latvia (ISSP UL) will also receive LAS President’s Certificates of Recognition for their work in theoretical physics.
The certificates will be awarded for:
Deciphering the mechanism of the photochromic effect in yttrium oxyhydrides

The award ceremony for the laureates will take place on 27 February at 14:00 in the Portrait Hall (3rd floor) of the Latvian Academy of Sciences. The ceremony will also be livestreamed on the LAS YouTube channel.
