ISSP UL Research Projects at the BioPhoT Industry Day

This Monday, the Industry Day of the long-term national research program BioPhoT took place at the University of Latvia House of Science, bringing together innovators, investors, industry players, and other enthusiasts of fresh ideas.

Throughout the day, participants engaged in project presentations, panel discussions, and networking sessions, aiming to identify points of synergy for successful cooperation between science and industry and the realization of shared goals. Of course, teams behind projects developed at the Institute of Solid State Physics, University of Latvia (ISSP UL) were also present. These teams have successfully completed the first call of the program and have already launched their research activities.

Leading Researcher of our Laboratory of Organic Materials Arturs Bundulis pitched the PHIPIC project to a panel of experts and other listeners – the project aims to use polymers in inorganic photonic integrated chips so they can be developed further and serve as a legitimate alternative to electronic chips. Additionally, all BioPhoT projects from ISSP UL participated in the poster session where everyone could meet the researcher teams and learn about their solutions and scientific details.
