For 20 years, the radio programme Zināmais nezināmajā (The Known in the Unknown) has invited experts, lecturers, and researchers to their studio to speak on a wide range of scientific, environmental, social, and political topics to a broad radio audience. The final programme of 2025 was dedicated to reflecting on all the year’s broadcasts and assessing this year in science overall.
During the show journalists recalled their most memorable segments and experiences, and we were glad to hear that among them was visiting the Institute of Solid State Physics, University of Latvia (ISSP UL) cleanrooms. ISSP UL contributed to the programme on multiple occasions over the course of 2025 – either by opening its doors to journalists for a closer look at the environment of a research institute or by providing expert insights with our researchers visiting the radio studio.
