On 14 November, the Institute of Solid State Physics, University of Latvia (ISSP UL) welcomed Latvian Electrical Engineering and Electronics Industry Association (LETERA) members representing companies from a wide spectrum of sectors, including photonics, biotechnology, microelectronics, aeronautics, telecommunications, and navigation.
The meeting was held to update LETERA on the latest developments in research projects geared towards industry needs – for example, our BioPhoT projects – and highlight the collaboration possibilities for companies.
After presentations and fruitful discussions, the members also went on a quick tour of our laboratories where they could see our research infrastructure and equipment up close as well as ask questions directly to subject matter experts.
Close collaboration with industry is a high priority for ISSP UL, and meetings like these often set the bedrock for successful endeavours where science empowers business and business empowers science.
