The BioPhoT research platform for biomedicine and photonics – in which the Institute of Solid State Physics, University of Latvia (ISSP UL) is an active partner – has launched a new initiative called “Industry Challenge”. It creates a space where science meets industry, giving companies the opportunity to present their technological challenges and research teams the chance to solve them through scientific expertise and practical innovation.
More than 15 challenges have already been submitted by companies in fields such as biomedicine, photonics, and smart materials – highlighting the demand for innovative solutions in research, sustainable technology, and manufacturing.
“Scientific results gain economic value when they help solve real problems. With this tool, we’re creating an environment for open dialogue between science and industry on real solutions,” said Osvalds Pugovičs, Director of BioPhoT.
