On 30 September 2025, the SWEB project continued its efforts to engage young people in science and technology by organizing a lecture at a Gymnasium in Bauska. The lecture was delivered by Boris Polyakov, Head of the Additive Manufacturing Group at the Institute of Solid State Physics, University of Latvia (ISSP UL), and leader of the SWEB project’s Work Package 3.
Building on the success of previous school visits, the lecture introduced students to the world of smart windows and nanomaterials, emphasizing how advanced materials research contributes to solving global challenges such as energy efficiency and sustainability. These outreach activities show that science is not only innovative and practical but also an exciting career path for the next generation.
School visits are part of the SWEB project’s broader mission to promote research excellence, strengthen the European Research Area (ERA), and build long-term links between academia, industry, and society. By inspiring curiosity among students today, we shape the innovators of tomorrow.
