
Starting in October, the Institute of Solid State Physics, University of Latvia (ISSP UL) resumed a series of scientific seminars and workshops aimed at engaging internal discourse among our researchers on the topics of their work, fostering new ideas, and exchanging experiences.
On 1 October, Mārtiņš Rutkis gave insight on the execution of the CAMART2 project and its results. The report on the concluded project was followed by an outlook on the ongoing projects for 2025, submitted applications, and the specifics of dual use project applications from Andris Šternbergs, Aleksejs Zolotarjovs and Ainārs Ozols.
On 8 October, the floor was given to members of the Laboratory of Organic Materials Artūrs Bundulis and Aivars Vembris who introduced the current-day advances and future prospect in the world of integrated photonics and quantum photonics. After a coffee break, more researchers spoke on hybrid materials for energy harvesting – Raitis Gržibovskis focused on organic and hybrid photovoltaics while Kaspars Pudzs broke down novel thermoelectric materials.
