The Institute of Solid State Physics, University of Latvia (ISSP UL), was represented at this year’s European Materials Research Society (E-MRS) Fall Meeting 2025 by Mārtiņš Zubkins, Leading Researcher at the ISSP UL Thin Films Laboratory and a member of the Smart Windows for Zero Energy Buildings (SWEB) project team.

He delivered an oral presentation titled “Role of Hydrogen Dynamics and Deposition Conditions in Photochromic YHO/MoO3 Bilayer Films” in the symposium “Next-generation thin films: innovations in PVD and CVD techniques”, dedicated to thin films, flexible and composite materials, and their formation methods.

This participation not only showcased ISSP UL’s latest advances in photochromic coatings for smart window applications but also contributed to strengthening international scientific cooperation and advancing the objectives of the Smart Windows for Zero Energy Buildings project.

The European Materials Research Society (E-MRS) is an international platform of over 4000 members from academia, research institutions, industry, and government. Its annual Spring and Fall Meetings bring together leading experts to exchange knowledge on the latest developments in functional materials and provide a forum for collaboration and innovation in the field.
