From 10–14 August 2025, the international conference CIOP 2025 – Conference on Information Optics and Photonics took place in Xi’an, China, bringing together leading experts in optics and photonics.
Researchers from the Institute of Solid State Physics, University of Latvia (ISSP UL) – Anatolijs Popovs and Marina Koņuhova – participated in the event, presenting the institute’s latest results in the study of optical properties of materials and introducing ISSP UL’s ongoing activities.
The conference gathered more than 1200 participants from the universities and scientific institutions of 27 countries. The program featured plenary sessions, almost 500 different talks & presentations, hundreds of thematic sections, and, of course, networking opportunities with potential partners. During the visit, ISSP UL researchers strengthened ties with several university and institute groups, laying the foundation for future joint research steps.
