On 26 June, within the FeLow-D series of seminars ISSP UL hosted a vibrant seminar titled “Inside Piezoelectricity: Energy Conversion on the Atomic Scale” by Prof. Andrew J. Bell (University of Leeds) drawing an enthusiastic audience of researchers and students alike.
The event moderated by ERA Chair holder Dr. Andrei Kholkin offered both deep scientific insights into piezoelectric mechanisms and sparked valuable discussion on research capacity building and the importance of cross-sectoral collaboration to bridge the gap between laboratory discoveries and practical applications.
"The energy of young minds in the room today confirms we are moving in the right direction—uniting excellence in materials science with real-world innovation," said Dr. Aleksejs Zolotarjovs, leading researcher at ISSP UL.
The seminar highlighted FeLow-D’s mission to position ISSP UL as a leader in the next generation of smart and sustainable technologies. It served as a platform to connect international expertise with local talent, fostering growth, ideas and collaboration.
