18 June 2025, the SWEB Hybrid Summer School on Solar Energy Materials and Smart Devices officially launched at the Institute of Solid State Physics (ISSP UL), drawing together early-stage researchers, students and international experts in renewable energy technologies.

Held in a hybrid format from June 18 to 21, the Summer School offers a dynamic platform for knowledge exchange in the rapidly evolving fields of solar energy conversion, advanced materials, and smart device technologies. Participants will engage in lectures, hands-on training, and networking sessions that span topics from solar photovoltaics to nanoscale energy devices.

This Summer School is a fantastic opportunity for emerging scientists to connect with leading researchers and get hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies” said Dr. Boris Polyakov, Leader of the Additive Manufacturing group at the ISSP UL Thin Films Laboratory.

Organized under the SWEB project, which promotes innovation and collaboration in functional coating research across Europe, the event reflects the growing urgency to develop sustainable and efficient energy solutions for the future.

With a strong focus on interdisciplinarity and international collaboration, the SWEB Summer School sets the stage for four days of scientific exploration, technical workshops and cross-border dialogue.
