The authors of 79 research and innovation project (RIP) applications who passed the first evaluation round are now invited to submit their full project proposals for scientific review by the expert panel of the Latvian Council of Science by July 11. Among these are 14 applications by research teams from the Institute of Solid State Physics, University of Latvia (ISSP UL).
Proposals must be submitted through the National Scientific Activity Information System under the section: “Platform ‘Biomedical and Photonics Research Platform for the Creation of Innovative Products’ (BioPhoT), No. IVPP-EM-Innovation-2024/1-0002, 2025 Open Call for Research and Innovation Projects.”
Each RIP selected in the second round may receive up to EUR 200,000 in funding. The project implementation period is 12 months, with the possibility of a 3-month extension without additional funding. The total available funding is EUR 6 million. If a large number of high-quality applications are received, the BioPhoT project management group may allocate up to an additional EUR 2 million.
