The first evaluation round of the BioPhoT platform’s Research and Innovation Project competition has concluded, with 79 research teams advancing to the next stage – including 14 teams from the Institute of Solid State Physics, University of Latvia (ISSP UL).

The initiative garnered strong interest from the scientific community, with over 120 applications submitted from Latvia and Lithuania. The selected 79 teams represent a wide range of disciplines, including physics, chemistry, biology, medicine, and engineering. In the second round, the teams will further develop their research ideas and prepare for scientific evaluation by an expert panel from the Latvian Science Council.

ISSP UL is proud to see our researchers enthusiastically engaging in such initiatives, which promote excellence and collaboration in science. We wish all participants success in the upcoming stages and challenges!
