The Institute of Solid State Physics, University of Latvia's (ISSP UL) Micro and Nano Devices Laboratory invites applications for the position of Researcher in Biosensor Development (1 full-time position, fixed-term until March 2028). The laboratory focuses on the fabrication of photonic and electrical sensors, as well as microfluidic devices.
Main responsibilities:
- Conduct experiments, including surface functionalization using aptamers;
- Fabricate microdevices;
- Characterize and document experimental results;
- Prepare experimental reports and documentation.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field;
- Good command of English;
- Ability to work independently, organize tasks, foresee and solve experimental challenges;
- Motivation to learn and acquire new knowledge, including preparation of procurement lists for necessary materials;
- High sense of responsibility, ability to work independently and in a team, and active participation in laboratory and institute activities;
- Previous experience in surface chemistry analysis and surface functionalization will be considered an advantage.
