Dr.Arvids Barševskis is the Vice-Rector for Science, Professor and Academician of Daugavpils University. The main directions of his scientific research are the fauna, distribution and protection of beetles in the Baltic region, as well as research of tropical beetles in one of the hottest biodiversity points in the world - the Philippine archipelago.
